Basketball Game Preview: Whitehouse Wildcats vs. Marshall Mavericks

The Whitehouse Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Marshall Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Whitehouse and six for Marshall.

It was a proper cat-fight when Whitehouse challenged Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday. Whitehouse took a blow against Mt. Pleasant, falling 56-26. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 762nd, while the Tigers are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, Marshall was beaten by Lufkin 73-30 on Tuesday.

Whitehouse's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.

Whitehouse strolled past Marshall in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 45-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitehouse since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
