Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Bruton's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

If Tabb wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Bruton, they should've done a better job of containing Brandon Freeman. The Bruton Panthers secured a 52-46 W over the Tabb Tigers on Wednesday thanks in part to Freeman, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Despite the defeat, Tabb had strong showings from Micah Marbra, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, and James Mueller, who posted 11 points and six steals. Marbra has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Siegel, who scored six points and five rebounds.

Bruton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Tabb, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bruton will head out to challenge York at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bruton is facing York at the right time seeing as York is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Tabb, they will venture away from home to face off against Smithfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithfield will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Tabb surely won't give up without a fight.
