Baseball Game Preview: Providence School Stallions vs. Richmond Hill Wildcats

The Providence School Stallions will face off against the Richmond Hill Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond Hill took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Providence School, who comes in off a win.

Providence School is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since March 4th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Tocoi Creek. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stallions.

Landis Pickett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pickett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Pickett wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Preston Ricchini, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Richmond Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Bishop Kenny by a score of 2-1.

Providence School pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Richmond Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
