Basketball Game Preview: GEO Next Generation Tigers vs. Collegiate

The GEO Next Generation Tigers will venture away from home to take on Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. GEO Next Generation is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when GEO Next Generation faced off against Glen Oaks on Friday. GEO Next Generation put the hurt on Glen Oaks with a sharp 69-45 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Jerren Pugh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 18 to rack up 21 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Anderson Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 16 boards.

Meanwhile, Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holden.

GEO Next Generation has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. As for Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-18.

GEO Next Generation didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Collegiate in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for GEO Next Generation since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
