Lakota took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Margaretta Polar Bears 15-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won four matchups in a row dating back to last season.

Emma Jurovcik made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Jurovcik was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lexi Moon and Chevelle Rubel did most of the damage at the plate: Moon got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Rubel scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Rubel a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Sophia Bomer, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lakota hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive games dating back to last season.
