Baseball Recap: Bowler Victorious

Bowler lost to Newman back in May of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Fighting Cardinals.

Treyvon Granquist made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

In other batting news, Bowler let Logan Windorski and Mason Kolpack run wild. Windorski got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Kolpack got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Bowler is 5-1 when Windorski posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Colton Lenoble also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bowler's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Newman, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-14.

As of now, neither Bowler nor the Fighting Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
