Basketball Recap: Plano's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

With a playoff win on the line, Plano rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 61-51 win over the Sycamore Spartans. The victory was familiar territory for the Reapers, who have now won five contests in a row.

Leading Plano to victory were Josie Larson and Chloe Rowe. Larson dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards, while Rowe dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 rebounds. What's more, Rowe also posted five steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Jadyn Long was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Plano smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 45 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Plano's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. As for Sycamore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season.

Looking ahead, Plano will take on Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Sterling's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Sycamore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
