Softball Game Preview: Rockvale vs. Oakland Patriots

Rockvale will face off against the Oakland Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockvale has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Oakland will come in with eight straight victories.

Last Thursday, Rockvale came up short against Siegel and fell 5-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakland). They never let Varsity Opponent get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.

Taylor Minnick was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Alli Monnin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Oakland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in eight consecutive matches.

Oakland's victory bumped their record up to 11-2-1. As for Rockvale, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Rockvale might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Oakland when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Rockvale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
