Basketball Recap: South Columbus Stallions vs. East Columbus Gators
South Columbus played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the East Columbus Gators and fell 48-5. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Trinity Strickland was South Columbus' leading scorer, having posted two points. Aniya Davis held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Malia Graham was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds for East Columbus. Graham has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Malayah Hines was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 15 points.
South Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for East Columbus, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
South Columbus will head out to square off against East Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Bladen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season. As for East Columbus, they will face off against West Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Columbus is facing West Columbus at the right time seeing as West Columbus is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
