Edinburg snaps nine-game streak of wins at home

The Edinburg Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 59-36 defeat to Edinburg North might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Edinburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 541st, while Edinburg North is ranked 270th).
Edinburg's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Phoenix McBride, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Edinburg's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-9. As for Edinburg North, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-8.
Edinburg will head out on the road to challenge Mission at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edinburg North, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Economedes at 6:00 p.m.
