Volleyball Recap: Elba Victorious

Elba lost to Nebraska Lutheran back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Bluejays skirted past the Knights 2-1.

Elba had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Jarahlynn Morrow paced Elba's offense, picking up 13 kills. Morrow got some help from Lacey Barg and her 23 assists. Morrow was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Despite the loss, Nebraska Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taelyn Williamson had ten digs and one assist.

Elba now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Nebraska Lutheran, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Coincidentally, Elba and Nebraska Lutheran will both be playing Osceola the next time they take the court. The Bluejays will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Knights will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
