A feisty cat fight will be fought as White Pine Bobcats challenge Pahranagat Valley Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
White Pine proved they can win big last Friday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over North Valley Christian Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since March 22, 2024.

Jacob Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Dylan Cessford was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacob Derbidge also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pahranagat Valley). They put the hurt on Lincoln County with a sharp 24-12 win on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.
Colin Howard and Todd Hansen did most of the damage at the plate: Howard went a perfect 5-for-5 with seven RBI, three runs, and three doubles, while Hansen scored five runs and stole Four bases. while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Paysen Jones, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Pahranagat Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
White Pine now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pahranagat Valley, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
White Pine came out on top in a nail-biter against Pahranagat Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will White Pine repeat their success, or does Pahranagat Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
