Volleyball Recap: Bellflower Comes Up Short on the Road Against Peninsula

Bellflower had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Peninsula Panthers, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-11.

Bellflower's offense was headlined by Oleevia Nansen and Jaylene Canedo, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Valerie Rivas and her 11 assists. Canedo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Bellflower will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Cerritos at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peninsula, they will take on Narbonne at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st.
