Softball Recap: Ariton Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Ariton was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the Opp Bobcats. If the Purple Cats were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ariton has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12-1 record this season. As for Opp, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-8.

Coming up, Ariton will be playing in front of their home fans against Luverne at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Opp, they have already played their next contest, an 8-5 loss against Rehobeth on the 12th.
