Basketball Recap: Community Christian Comes Up Short

Community Christian suffered their closest loss since February 9, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Ahoskie Christian by a score of 34-32. The Cyclones have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ahoskie Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mara Dae White out in front who posted 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lilly Lassiter, who earned two points along with eight rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.

Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Ahoskie Christian, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Christian will head out to square off against Christ Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ahoskie Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pamlico Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
