A feisty cat fight will be fought as Pelion Panthers duke it out with Saluda Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pelion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Pelion is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Ninety Six just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 17-2 to the Wildcats.

Pelion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexia Hansen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Ashlyn Bazzell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Saluda had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Warhorses by a score of 8-3.

Kylee McGlohorn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Kamryn Campbell was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Saluda's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pelion, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Saluda's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pelion hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395.
