Recap: Gardena Panthers vs. Garfield Bulldogs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Gardena Panthers can now relate to. They were dealt a 42-6 loss at the hands of Garfield on Friday. Gardena's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Damian Cornejo was his usual excellent self, rushing for 150 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Jayden Barnes also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.
Gardena's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Garfield, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Gardena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Garfield will face off against Birmingham at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Birmingham is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
