Softball Recap: Newton Falls Takes a Loss

Newton Falls came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 18-5 to the Crestview Rebels. The Tigers have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Madalyn Knight made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kirra Howard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Newton Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Crestview, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to an 3-3 tie later that day.
