Baseball Game Preview: Mount Tabor Spartans vs. Davie War Eagles

For the second straight game, Mount Tabor will face off against Davie. Mount Tabor will welcome Davie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Tabor's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mount Tabor lost 16-2 to Davie on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 14 runs.

For Davie's part, they got a great performance from Tucker Hobbs as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, Logan Allen was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Coy James, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Davie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Davie's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Mount Tabor, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
