Baseball Recap: Pine Forest Comes Up Short

Pine Forest extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-16. They lost 22-2 to the Pinecrest Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent loss being a 20-0 defeat on Tuesday.

Pine Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Iggy Canny, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

As for Pinecrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

On Pinecrest's side, Taylor Graves and Owen Todd were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Graves tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Todd tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Graves has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Graves went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double, while Todd got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Graves a new career-high.

In other batting news, Liam Dutton was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Bryson Partington, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
