Baseball Recap: North Rowan Cavaliers vs. Salisbury Hornets
The home team had won the previous four meetings between North Rowan and Salisbury, and Salisbury kept the tradition alive. The Cavaliers took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-0 loss on Friday.
Zane Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Garrigus, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
North Rowan's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Salisbury, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-16.
