Recap: Bellmont Braves vs. Huntington North Vikings
Even though the Bellmont Braves have not done well against the Huntington North Vikings recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Bellmont came out on top against Huntington North by a score of 62-50. Given Bellmont's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Huntington North is ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Huntington North lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Zahn, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Dalton Husband, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Bellmont is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Huntington North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Bellmont will be playing at home against Leo at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Huntington North, they will head out on the road to square off against DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
