Basketball Game Preview: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. Springfield Tigers

Mineral Ridge is 0-10 against Springfield since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mineral Ridge Rams will look to defend their home court against the Springfield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Mineral Ridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Saturday, Mineral Ridge narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Orange 64-62.

Chase Moore and Kaden Shaffer were among the main playmakers for Mineral Ridge as the former posted 21 points and the latter scored 20 points. Moore's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Hester, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Springfield posted their biggest win since January 30, 2024 on Friday. They really took it to McKinley for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-23 victory. With the Tigers ahead 35-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

The win got Springfield back to even at 9-9. As for Mineral Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Things could have been worse for Mineral Ridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-37 loss to Springfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
