Volleyball Recap: Oswego Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oswego can now relate to. They fell just short of the Joliet West Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 two weeks ago.

Joliet West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eden Eyassu led the charge by getting 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Eyassu has posted since back in September. Lola Berta was another key player, getting 12 digs and four aces.

Oswego moved to 24-14 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Joliet West, they are on a roll lately: they've won 23 of their last 24 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-3 record this season.

Oswego does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Joliet West, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lockport at 6:00 p.m.
