Linn-Mar waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 58-48 victory over the Iowa City West Trojans. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 52-47 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Linn-Mar pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Iowa City West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Linn-Mar Lions face off against the Kennedy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Iowa City West, they will head out on the road to square off against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Iowa City West is facing Liberty at the right time seeing as Liberty is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
