Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Clyde's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Clyde hadn't done well against Jim Ned recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Indians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 last Friday.

Clyde saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Spurlock, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Clyde has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jim Ned, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-5.

Coming up, Clyde will head out to take on San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Jim Ned, they will host Wall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 2.9, the Hawks 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
