Baseball Game Preview: Crawford Colts vs. Army-Navy Warriors

The Crawford Colts will face off against the Army-Navy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crawford will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Crawford made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Calvin Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Crawford was the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Calvin Christian on Monday.

Abbel Martinez was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hector Fuentes, who scored five runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Martinez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Crawford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvin Christian only managed eight hits.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Army-Navy was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coastal Academy.

Army-Navy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Mandell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Army-Navy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Crawford, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Crawford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Army-Navy struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
