Recap: Crowley Eagles vs. Boswell Pioneers

The Crowley Eagles lost against the Boswell Pioneers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Crowley took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boswell. Crowley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Crowley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Williams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns. Williams is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Derrick Tasby jr, who picked up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Boswell was led to victory by Kairel Robertson and Tye Renfro. Robertson picked up 146 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Renfro threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Renfro was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Jack Garcia did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and three extra points.

Crowley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Boswell, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crowley will take on North Crowley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Crowley is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Boswell, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Chisholm Trail at 7:30 p.m. Chisholm Trail is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
