Basketball Recap: Coldwater Takes a Loss

Coldwater was the 58-28 winner over Van Wert when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Coldwater Cavaliers were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 36-35 to the Van Wert Cougars.

Van Wert's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazzlyn Florence, who went 7 of 11 en route to 17 points. Maria Bagley was another key player, putting up six points.

Coldwater has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Van Wert, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-16.

Coldwater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-29 loss against Parkway on the 30th. As for Van Wert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-16 defeat against Ottawa-Glandorf on the 30th.
