Softball Game Preview: Birdville Hawks vs. Aledo Bearcats

For the second straight game, Birdville will face off against Aledo. The Hawks will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Birdville is on a three-game streak of home wins, Aledo a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.

Birdville heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to Aledo. The match marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

For Aledo's part, ADDIE PERRY was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI PERRY has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of JORDYN EDINGTON, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Aledo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 16 consecutive games.

Aledo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Birdville, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 30-5.
