Recap: Brookfield Central Lancers vs. Beaver Dam Golden Beavers
The Brookfield Central Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 72-37 loss at the hands of Beaver Dam. While losing is never fun, Brookfield Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Golden Beavers are ranked 25th).
Despite the loss, Brookfield Central had strong showings from Josie Piurkowski, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Dylan Romero, who scored 14 points.
Brookfield Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
Brookfield Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Beaver Dam, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Brookfield Central will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaver Dam will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Red Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th. Milton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
