Thoreau has gone 9-1 against Newcomb recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Thoreau Hawks will welcome the Newcomb Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. Thoreau will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Thoreau challenged Crownpoint on Thursday. Thoreau escaped with a win against Crownpoint by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41.

Thoreau's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayliegh Dodge, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Madison Woodie, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Newcomb didn't have too much trouble with Zuni on Monday as they won 64-49. The Skyhawks have beaten the Thunderbirds the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Thunderbirds has come to flipping the script.

Newcomb's win bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Thoreau, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.

Thoreau didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Newcomb in their previous matchup on February 4th, but they still walked away with a 34-30 win. Will Thoreau repeat their success, or does Newcomb have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
