Volleyball Recap: Angola's Loss Ends 12-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Angola was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Eastside on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets lost 3-0 to the Carroll Chargers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since September 22nd.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-12.

Maya Harris paced Angola's offense, picking up 17 kills. Harris got some help from Aspen Sutton and her 19 assists. Harris was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Carroll's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cala Haffner led the charge by getting nine digs and five assists. Lauren Peters was another key player, getting seven digs and one assist.

Angola's loss ended a 12-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-7. As for Carroll, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 29-0.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Angola and East Noble will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carroll, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fishers at 10:00 a.m.
