Football Recap: Pana Skates Past Greenville with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pana). They breezed past the Greenville Comets to the tune of 47-7 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Pana's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Moore, who threw for 151 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Those 97 rushing yards gave Moore a new career-high. Pana's leading receiver Cash Lynch was Moore's top target yet again, picking up 47 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 67 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pana was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 181 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Pana's record now sits at 4-1. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Pana will head out to take on Staunton/Bunker Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Greenville, they will welcome Vandalia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will need to watch out since the Vandals have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
