Softball Game Preview: Merryville Panthers vs. Elton Indians

The Merryville Panthers will square off against the Elton Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Merryville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Merryville is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Sulphur just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Golden Tors by a score of 4-3.

Merryville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leighlah Pruitt, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Elton made easy work of Johnson Bayou on Monday and carried off a 20-4 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Elton and bumps their season record up to 5-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.5 runs over those games. As for Merryville, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Everything went Merryville's way against Elton in their previous meeting back in March, as Merryville made off with a 20-2 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
