Preview: Pembroke Dragons vs. Akron Tigers
Pembroke is 5-0 against Akron since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Pembroke Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Akron Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Pembroke focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Wednesday.
Pembroke fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Kendall but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.
Pembroke's loss came about despite a quality game from Reagan Schneider, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. Seneca Calderon was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Akron couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a rough 70-27 loss at the hands of Nichols. Akron has struggled against Nichols recently, as their matchup two weeks ago was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Their wins bumped Pembroke to 1-1 and Kendall to 3-0.
Pembroke strolled past Akron in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 by a score of 50-35. Will Pembroke repeat their success, or does Akron have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
