Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield lost against Marple Newtown back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Springfield Cougars took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers.

Springfield got a good showing from Jack Rae, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Nick Corse was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Patrick O'Neill was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Springfield and Marple Newtown will both be playing Penncrest the next time they take the field. Springfield will host Penncrest at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, while Marple Newtown will host them at 3:45 p.m. on March 26th.
