The Wake Prep Academy Guardians will head out on the road to challenge the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-25, which was the final score in Wake Prep Academy's tilt against Oak Forest on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Wake Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Oak Forest is ranked 90th).
The losing side was boosted by Chelsea Lange, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy-Johnston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 38-19 to J.F. Webb.
Wake Prep Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10.
Everything went Wake Prep Academy's way against American Leadership Academy-Johnston in their previous matchup back in January as Wake Prep Academy made off with a 43-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wake Prep Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
