Recap: Denver East Angels vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles
The Denver East Angels were the 68-51 winner over the Dakota Ridge Eagles when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Denver East fell just short of Dakota Ridge by a score of 74-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did back in December of 2023 (66), Denver East still had to take the loss.
Denver East lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ehud Tesfoye, who scored 22 points along with six assists and four steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. James Murray was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Dakota Ridge was led to victory by Andrew Schneider and Ethan Berninger. Schneider scored 19 points, while Berninger scored 25 points along with nine rebounds. The game was Berninger's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Esau, who scored 11 points along with seven assists.
Denver East has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Dakota Ridge, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Denver East is on the road again on Saturday and play against Douglas County at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Dakota Ridge, they will be playing at home against Golden at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Golden is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
