Baseball Game Preview: Wisdom Generals vs. Cesar E. Chavez Lobos

For the second straight game, Wisdom will face off against Cesar E. Chavez. The Generals will be playing at home against the Lobos at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wisdom's hitters haven't had much luck over their past 12 games, but Saturday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cesar E. Chavez hit Wisdom with a seven-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Generals came up short against the Lobos, falling 10-2.

For Cesar E. Chavez's part, Juan Chaidez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Chaidez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cesar E. Chavez is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Chaidez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cesar E. Chavez got a big performance out of Christopher Torres, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Torres has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Joshua Reynoso, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Cesar E. Chavez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wisdom's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Cesar E. Chavez, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-9.
