Volleyball Game Preview: Southern Wayne Saints vs. Princeton Bulldogs

The Southern Wayne Saints are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Princeton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Southern Wayne is leaving town to face Princeton after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Saints came up short against Goldsboro on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Princeton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out Hunt 3-2 on Tuesday.

Princeton wouldn't go down easily and took Hunt into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-16, 26-24, 20-25, 16-14.

Southern Wayne couldn't quite get it done against Princeton in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
