With a playoff win on the line, Hampton Park Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Lake Pointe Academy Mariners 69-42. Hampton Park Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Trevor Gearhart, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jack Gantt, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 20 points and seven boards.

Hampton Park Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Pointe Academy lost, don't look at James Jacobs. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points. That was a full 35.7% of Lake Pointe Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stewart Settle, who put up nine points.

Hampton Park Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Lake Pointe Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
