Softball Recap: Peaster Has No Trouble Against Eastland

Peaster had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Eastland on Friday. The Greyhounds were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Mavericks. The Greyhounds have beaten the Mavericks the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mavericks has come to flipping the script.

Payton Kreh spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

On the hitting side, Abigail Wiley was a standout: she scored five runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hannah Wiley, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Peaster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastland only posted an OBP of .280.

Peaster now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Eastland, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 13-7 record.

Peaster wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-8 victory against Early on the 1st. As for Eastland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-8 defeat against Comanche on the 1st.
