Basketball Recap: Riverview's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

If Riverview was riding high fresh off their 48-20 takedown of Middleton on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sharks lost to the Newsome Wolves on the road by a 38-22 margin on Friday. The Sharks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Riverview still got an impressive performance from Mikaylah Birch, who posted eight points and seven boards. Birch is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Riverview fell to 2-1. As for Newsome, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Riverview and Newsome will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Sharks see the court they'll take on Plant City at 8:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Newsome, their break will end when they face Spoto at 8:00 p.m. on December 2.
