It was fun while it lasted, but Crofton's undefeated season came to an end after 13 games on Tuesday. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brandon Valley Lynx. The loss put an end to the Warriors' undefeated start to the season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sammie Allen, who posted 14 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassie Allen, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 19 points.
Brandon Valley was led to victory by Alyvia Padgett and Madison Geiver. Padgett went 7 for 12 en route to 23 points in addition to seven assists and five steals, while Geiver went 8 of 10 on her way to 16 points and eight boards. Padgett has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Gracie Salter was another key player, putting up seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Having lost for the first time this season, Crofton fell to 13-1. As for Brandon Valley, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Crofton and Brandon Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings.
