Baseball Recap: Neuqua Valley Takes a Loss

Neuqua Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Lyons Lions, falling 14-4. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Joe Barkley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

Even though they lost, Neuqua Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Neuqua Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Lyons, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Neuqua Valley Wildcats duke it out with Plainfield South Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Lyons, they will welcome Berwyn/Cicero Morton at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
