Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Gerald Layne and Beau Blocker Lead Trinity Prep to Victory

Trinity Prep won the last time they faced Providence Classical Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trinity Prep Lions managed a 73-68 victory over the Providence Classical Christian Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Trinity Prep was led to victory by Beau Blocker and Gerald Layne. Blocker posted 26 points, while Layne went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Blocker's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Barnes, who had nine points.

Trinity Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Trinity Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Providence Classical Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Trinity Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-52 victory against Faith Christian Academy on the 13th. As for Providence Classical Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-45 defeat against Milledgeville Prep on the 13th.
