Volleyball Recap: Wekiva Mustangs vs. West Port Wolf Pack
Wekiva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Port Wolf Pack.
Wekiva was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made West Port work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 19-25, 25-12, 25-16.
West Port found their leader in freshman Luis Monserat, who had 18 digs and seven aces. Monserat is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Michael Reid, who had four digs and one block.
Wekiva's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for West Port, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wekiva will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ocoee at 7:00 p.m. on March 27th. As for West Port, they will welcome Vanguard at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
