Softball Recap: Grandview Picks Up 18th Straight Win on the Road

Grandview came tearing into Friday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Lorena Leopards get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Zebras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Grandview pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lorena, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grandview will venture away from home to square off against Scurry-Rosser at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grandview's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Scurry-Rosser's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lorena, they are taking a road trip to face off against Godley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
