Basketball Game Preview: Oak Harbor Wildcats vs. Mt. Baker Mountaineers

The Oak Harbor Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Mt. Baker Mountaineers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Oak Harbor is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 82-67 win over Blaine on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mt. Baker hadn't done well against Nooksack Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Mt. Baker came out on top against Nooksack Valley by a score of 59-47. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mountaineers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mt. Baker now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Oak Harbor, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.

Oak Harbor was able to grind out a solid victory over Mt. Baker when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 72-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Harbor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
